The Class of '07's Batch Song - We are the Young

We are the young, the children of the world
We hold tomorrow in our hands
We are the young, the promise of a brighter day
The future waits at our command

Teach us well, teach us how to care
Give us love, love that we can share
As we'll walk hand in hand in the light of the rising sun
    We are the young

We are the young, and so we look to you
To show us how the world should be
We are the young, we trust in your experience
To help us shape our destiny

Teach us well, teach us how to care
Give us love, love that we can share
As we'll walk hand in hand in the light of the rising sun
    We are the young

    That day is dawning
    When we will be grown
    We will inherit
    This world for our own

We are the young, the children of the world
We hold tomorrow in our hands
We are the young, the promise of a brighter day
The future waits in our command

Teach us well, teach us how to care
Give us love, love that we can share
As we'll walk hand in hand in the light of the rising sun
    We are the young
    We are the young
    We are the young

still remember how our batch was so closely bonded. and how we linked arms as we sang the batch song. thing is that, we really felt it yea. it wasn't just like any other song. it held meaning for us. that our batch is one, and together we can achieve great things. was looking at the night sky with amos and jiale tt day. and amos was telling me, "4 years pass so fast." i can so wholeheartedly agree. time flies, and all these days will be behind us as we move on in life. they'll become mere memories. "recalling that year's September, in that library corner.. memories and melodies we left there, all the joys and the tears.." the RJ batch song is just as touching, just that the people aren't bonded at all. between a few friends, i guess we can all relate that we should just have a class to ourselves, on our own.. our 2 years would have been much more enjoyable yea.

"we'll be friends forver, sharing all the laughter.. maybe we will drift apart, but promise you my friend, left you a space in my heart.." this line reminds me of my godsis simjoo.. yea, with your grey jacket and bemused expression at the gallery.. as we chatted over random stuffs like how your name sounds korean, and your hair looks korean too.. and how you wanted to learn to play e guit.. being VC of AV whilst i was VC of GE. hahax.. time flies. kinda sad that it's really so fast.. block out 1st dec k? don't zao till 9. yea, if you're reading this, dinner's on me. :)

saw zhiyuan and joshua that day at RI canteen. they were both PSLs in training. what can i say man. well, zhiyuan was telling me that the other PSLs just walked by, ignored them even if they said hi, just me and hijazi would still smile or at least wave back. really. so 2 years in RJ makes you a diferent person.. haiz.. must have made a really good impression on them as a PSL and VC ba.. at least for zhiyuan yea.. kinda proud of myself. heh. and joshua too, sorry tt i lost my cool at you once cos you were being really damn uncooperative. but people grow up. glad to have made a change in people's lives, and cos they look up to you as a role model, it does offer some form of satisfaction, that all these years of assuming the role of a perfect guy does pay off indeed. though some of it may have been much of an act, it's worth it to have helped shaped so many people's lives, and make them want to help others like i did.

in economics, they call it the multiplier effect. heh. will there be a better RJ in 2 yrs time? i won't be around to see it yea. but it'll take a lot of effort. a better society? even more effort. but there's progress. and that's good enough reason to continue this act yea. maybe in front of my close friends and godsibilings i can drop this act and be myself, but in front of others, it's always worth it to make a change in their lives and influence them for the better. the better which i can never achieve totally, but can make up for it through a totally diferent personality which i can control consciously. yea, it's a sacrifice. but a good rep in school does keep people from criticising you when you become someone of stature in future.. :)

ok, back to mugging. time's running out. i'm damn scared for As..
